Loton Park 12th July 2009

A fellow marshall Malcolm Garrett sadly passed away on the 19th June 2009, he was stalwart of the Loton Park marshalling team for many years, Malcolm rarely missed a meeting, and was one of those marshals you could allocate to any post and rely on him to do an excellent job.

Malcolm was also Chief Marshal for many of the MG Car Club’s events in the area, but motorsport was not his only passion. He also loved railways – he was for many years a member of the station staff at Hampton Loade on the SVR – and also enjoyed football refereeing. Over the past year, he had often spoken of how he was looking forward to retirement, and being able to spend more time on his hobbies. Sadly, this wish was to be denied him.
